It was important for me to be able to offer products that everyone could enjoy. As someone who can’t eat dairy, my first job was to find delicious, quality products that would be able to be enjoyed by vegans and those with lactose intolerance. I found a great local supplier who made delicious vegan fruit ices (something like a Sorbet).Their products use all natural flavours (real pureed fruit) versus artificial flavourings  that would be added to products at most other frozen yogurt and ice cream shops.

However, I didn’t just want the vegan options to be fruit based sorbets, so I found a supplier for a chocolate and vanilla vegan frozen yogurt. These products contain the same probiotics as yogurt does, but are made without cows milk. The vanilla is made with coconut milk and oil which makes the product incredibly creamy. The chocolate is water based, and ends up tasting similar to a Fudgsicle!

I also offer Greek Organic Frozen Yogurt. A local farm produces this for me with all natural organic flavourings (like pureed strawberries and raspberries) to create an amazing, flavourful and nutritious treat.

Many people ask me what makes my frozen yogurt organic. The farm which produces the yogurt uses organic skim milk in their products, meaning that the feed the cows eat is all organic and grown on the farm, and that the cows are raised in a humane environment (one that better mimics their natural habitat). In my opinion this not only makes the product safer and healthier to eat, but it also makes it that much more delicious.

Lastly, I decided to also offer premium ice cream – Gelato.  At the Fro.Zen Trolley we typically have between one and two flavours of gelato.  This typically Italian treat is offered in soft serve format aboard the Trolley. The flavours are rich and the texture is quite creamy without having a super sweet after taste like you might get with certain ice creams. The flavours we have rotated this summer include Chocolate, Chocolate-Hazelnut, Cappuccino, Maple-Walnut, Salted-Caramel, and Pistachio.

I am the chief taste tester. And I can honestly say, I haven’t found one that isn’t truly delicious.
Each flavour has a remarkable depth — it just depends what you’re looking for. The fruit ices – mango, passion fruit or raspberry – are amazing. Just like eating fresh fruit.
The Greek yogurt – raspberry or strawberry – are subtle flavours – soooo good.
And the Chocolate or Salted Caramel gelatos are smooth and rich.
That’s only the tip of the iceberg, so to speak.
Just so much fun to try them.
